Sports Massage Therapy

Sports Massage Therapy

The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension, which builds up in the body's soft tissues during physical activity. If you are athletic,  just like to keep fit or have any general tension or stress, an injury may severely impact your lifestyle. Following a detailed assessment of your condition, a clinical diagnosis will be made and an individually tailored treatment and exercise plan developed.

Some of the problems we treat include:

Ankle sprains - Knee Ligament Injuries - Groin Strain - Achilles  Strain - Achilles Tendinopathy - Muscle Tear - Tennis Elbow - Shin Splints - Recurring Hamstring injury.

Supports the reduction of tension and stress

Wherever minor injuries and wounds occur, as a result of over exertion or excessive use, massage can easily break them down rapidly and efficiently. Most importantly, it will also help reduce those little incidents that usually get in the way of overall fitness, well-being and health.

What does a session involve?

A ‘hands on’ treatment technique employed by our qualified therapists which involves the mobilising and manipulation of the bodies soft tissue and myofascial structures. Both athletes and non-athletes can gain physiological and psychological benefits from receiving sports massage therapy.
